About me
I love to travel, but I'm at home at the moment and desperately looking for an escape! I love Edinburgh but a change is as good as a rest, as they say. I am hoping to head off on another trip soon!

Occupation
Acting Branch Manager of an Opticians practise. It's a very interesting field but I've been in the same post for over a year and I need a change of scenery!

Interests
I love watching films and reading all kinds of books, also educating myself by reading broadsheet newspapers. I always like to have music playing, be it classical, classic rock, 60's disco tunes or anything in between.

mission_in_life[
To get to New Zealand and have spent at least a month without having to work in Canada. I also wouldn't mind having done a bit of work on a cruise ship. My long term goal is to open my own backpackers hostel in Edinburgh - hopefully in the next 5 or so years.

Travel Experiences
I've travelled some of Australia, that was the most recent trip... also been to Singapore, New York state (NYC for only one day!) and various parts of Europe on random trips - Holland, Spain, France, Italy, Greece etc.

Languages I speak
English fluently, Scottish Gaelic, very basic French & Spanish - barely conversational!!

My friends,

Things Elaine has to offer:

Activities todo
I offer :
  • - To show you around town.
  • - To show you the local culture.
  • - Movies (There are 2 really nice, smaller, independent cinemas in the city centre - The Cameo and The Filmhouse. The Filmhouse has good arthouse films and the odd Hollywood 'blockbuster' on offer, The Cameo has the same, with a cosy vibe and a bar. You can take drinks from the bar into the screen with you!)
  • - Museum (The Museum of Childhood on the Royal Mile is well worth a visit. It's free to get in an it has displays of toys and games and clothes etc children through different ages wore and how they lived. Excellent if you're a history fan like I am. Other museums worth mentioning are the National Museum of Scotland and the Museum of Edinburgh - both in the city centre, on Chambers Street and the Royal Mile respectively.)
  • - Walking and hiking (In Edinburgh a walk around Arthur's Seat is a must!! Then you should really take a walk around the base, through Holyrood Park and up the historic Royal Mile. I can give a reasonably accurate history lesson aswell!)
  • - Activity costs (Everything I've just mentioned, apart from the cinema and any souvenirs obviously, is free! Hooray!!)
Send a request for an activity.
