I found the Delta of Home Stay Yogyakarta from web http://www.hostelbookers.com. The ordering via online was carried out by me 6 months before the night late 2007. With only paid 10 %, that is Rp. 13,000.- I could the interesting and unique place in a pretty city, Yogyakarta. The fasade was very thick with etnic Yogya. In architecture, was known with the term of Post Modern Architecture. With the price. 130,000 IDR, I could enjoy New Years Eve in a pretty hotel in Yogyakarta, with quite complete facilities. The room with AC, double bed, water heater, breakfast, with the swimming pool in the exterior that could be seen directly from the terrace respectively the room.

As the modern hostel, available facilities indeed met standart the user, that is the europe tourists. So, I just knew about this location, if the Prawirotaman area in Yogya, was the special region that most often was used to foreign tourists's in Yogya. If being compared by Bangkok, possibly this the area that a type with Khaosan Road. Could be imagined by available facilities in the surrounding environment. Complete with many ATM, money changer, the bureau travelling to various corners of the good tourist attraction the Yogya surrounds tour and the Central Javan surrounds tour. His wall, like the house building remained modern, was made from smooth bricks in a polished manner that was perfect. But from outside each building unit, was given by the layer of the bamboo cane work as being proper for the typical house rural areas in the past. This time the layer of the wall took the form of this bamboo cane work was covered furnishing so as to appear pretty and brightly.

The Delta Homestay was located in Street Prawirotaman II or that more was known with Street Gerilya. The region that beforehand was this Indinesia post of the independence fighter could be covered only for 20 minutes from the Adisutjipto International Airport as well as 10 minutes from Tugu Railway Stations and the Giwangan Stations. Various interesting tourist attractions could be covered quickly. Only 30 minutes headed the Prambanan Temple that was the Hindu temple biggest in South-East Asia and 1 hour headed the Borobudur Temple that was one of the world miracles. The Yogyakarta palace and Taman Sari could be followed with only took up time 10 minutes.

there are plenty cheap hotels in yogyakarta, i just cannot remember all of them. if you are interested to stay in the heart of the city, you can stay in the sosrowijayan area, that is, the tourists ghetto. more info on the area is available at this site: http://www.yogyes.com/en/yogyakarta-tou ... rowijayan/ and if you are interested to stay at cheap hotels in yogyakarta you can visit this site http://www.jogya.com/hotel-melati.html

unlike in amsterdam, the hotels in yogya are generally cheap and relatively clean too. you can rent a simple room from less than USD 10 to luxury room at more than usd 500/night in town, depending on where you stay. however, if you are interested in cheap hotels, i suggest that you stay at the tourists ghetto: sosrowijayan where you can find the essence of the town.

by the way, when i visisted europe in 2004, i stayed at ibis, near schipol airport in 2004. i din't know that i could stay in town for the same price, so i had to travel by train from the schipol to amsterdam for checking the wallatjes, the madame tussaud, rijkmuseum, van gogh museum, and frank anne's house.

i also visited rotterdam, delft and the hague. it was just awonderful to see the leaves turning into different colors! i shall return, one day... ;)

Hm....Michael....

That's true. Delta Home Stay in Prawirotaman Street-Yogyakarta, is in Sostrowijayan Area, too.
The area with many backpacker travellers in here. I think,it's like KHAOSAN ROAD in Bangok....isn't ?

The problem is, in web http://www.yogyes.com. you can not booking by online.
From Semarang, maybe I can booking by phone with nothing down payment. But, for the travellers from another country, maybe booking online by TFT or another booking online website,is more easy and simple. ;)

Mbak Santy,
Prawirotaman area is also a popular tourist center, down on the southern part of yogyakarta, heading for Parangtritis Beach direction, approximately 4 - 5 kms from Sosrowijayan area. Whereas the location of Sosrowijayan is just on the southgate of the Tugu railway station and in the middle of the city, where you can find the famous Malioboro street and Beringharjo traditional market.
